BRISA Interested in Infrastructure Projects in Bulgaria

Highway concessionary Brisa Auto-Estradas de Portugal SA is studying forming consortia to bid for about ten investment projects in Central and Eastern Europe, Diario Economico reported without citing a source.

According to the newspaper, Brisa plans to bid for infrastructure projects in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
Separately, Jornal de Negocios cited Brisa's manager for its operations in Eastern Europe Guiherme Magalhaes as saying that Brisa plans to bid for five projects to install toll booths on motorways in Hungary and Slovakia.

The newspaper cited Magalhaes as saying that the company is also studying infrastructure projects in Serbia, Bosnia, Bulgaria and Romania.
Brisa owns 26 pct of Kapsch Telematic Services, a joint venture it operates with Kapsch Traffic Com AG in the Czech Republic.
