Biofuel Plant to be Built Close to Sofia
“Profex Bioproducts” Ltd. plans to invest 6M BGN in the construction of modern installation for grain processing, the end product of which will be bioethanol, informs Money.bg.
The modern plant will be in the industrial zone of the Sofia village Gorna Malina, announced from Bulgarian investment agency.
The installation is expected to process 90 tones of grains daily with a planned future increase of the plant's production capacity.
The end product will be 33 thousand liters bioethanol per day, which will be realized through its depositing in the light fuels sector, the investment agency pointed out.
The modern installation will secure also other end products such as 30 000 kg animal food and 24 tones carbon dioxide per day.
With its investment project “Profex Biofuel” plans to create 40 new workplaces and much more workplaces in the process of construction of the installation.
The installation of grain processing is expected to start working by the end of this year.
Currently, nearly 25 biofuel production plants projects have been started in Bulgaria and as many are waiting to be designed and built in the near future.
Bulgaria attracts this kind of production due to its relatively low costs for agriculture and labor as well as the expected Euro subsidizing and possibilities for growth in the sector. As a result of the biofuel industry boom in the country, there is already an increase in the price of the raw sunflower oil.
Among the largest bioethanol producers is the “Euro Ethyl” company, which invested 10.7M dollars in its bioethanol plant in Alfatar, which started working late last year. The company plans to invest another 20.2M dollars in the plant's expansion.
