Bulgairans Enjoy the New Snowfall in Bansko
The long-awaited snowfall in the last couple of days filled the ski resort in Bansko to 60 % of its capacity. Bulgarian tourists are the most numerous guests both in luxury and small family hotels and private lodgings in town. The snow is not the only reason; reasonable price for a bed is the other. "Some tourists are here for the up-coming European Women's Alpine Skiing Championship." The accomodation price will stay the same for another three days, but in the beginning of February the European Championship will raise prices by 10-15 %," said head of the Tourism Business Association in Bansko, Yanka Rahova.
Pirin Mountain is the cheapest ski region in Bulgaria at the moment, family hotels offer beds for approximately 10 euro per night, the price in a private lodging is 7 euro, breakfast excluded. Bed &Breakfast package in a family hotel varies from 15 to 20 euro. A night in a three-star hotel costs less than 50 euro, and a night in a fours-star hotel is 60-70 euro.
