Foundation Gaddafi: Agreement is Reached for Libyan Children
Foundation Gaddafi has announced that the families of the contaminated Libyan children have accepted the financial compensations, which allows for an arrangement of the case of the sentenced to death Bulgarian medics, informed AFP.
“We have reached a compromise acceptable for the families. The details of this agreement will be announced in the next hours”, Salah Abdessalam, director of Foundation Gaddafi, who is leading the negotiations, told the AFP.
The agreement has been reached between the families and the special fund for helping the victims, which was created in 2005 by Sofia and Tripoli, under the auspices of the EU, to indemnify the families of the contaminated children.
“This agreement satisfies all the parties and puts an end to this crisis”, added Abdessalam without giving further details.
Meanwhile France Press announced that president George Bush had asked Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi to intervene and to help for the release of the six Bulgarians – the five nurses and the doctor.
Foundation Gaddafi, presided by Seif al-Islam Gaddafi, makes the announcement on the eve of the verdict, which is to be pronounced on Wednesday by the Libyan Supreme Court.
