Ice Rink In Bansko, Bulgaria Heralds A New Sporting Focus
A new ice rink in Bansko has been open to the public for a month or so now. Although it was not officially opened, the rink became one of the favorite places for the guests and the citizens of Bansko. This is one of the most modern facilities of this type and it spreads on 1200 square metres with seats for the spectators. The ice rink was built to entertain the numerous guests of the resort and to be a training stage for the youngest inhabitants of Bansko. The children can skate there for free and they are trained by skillful specialist in this field with a view to future championship glory!
After an ice rink was opened in the capital, Sofia, and other big cities in Bulgaria, it was a given that the most developed ski centre on the Balkans had to offer such a rink. The ice rinks are not only extremely attractive but Bansko claim that they are very romantic as well, especially if the magnificent peaks of Pirin Mountain are rising in front of you while you are skating.
The ice skate in Bansko is just the beginning of the developing of great sport centre at the foot of Pirin Mountain. The mayor of the Bansko, Aleksandar Kravarov, recently announced that this will be a big sport hall with more than 5000 seats. The hall will host ice hockey, basketball, valley ball and indoor football matches. There will be football field and tennis courts around the hall. Besides in the next few years the building of the sports tourist complex with golf course, Spa centre, horseback riding base and trade centre. The complex will cover 1000 decares between Bansko and Dobrinishte. This way Bansko will be a very attractive tourist destination not only during the winter but in any time of year.
