MOST FACILITIES IN BULGARIA’S WINTER RESORTS CLOSED
Conditions in Bansko winter resort are suitable for ski tourism, but the facilities and ski tracks at Platoto station are closed due to strong wind, Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) said.
All other facilities and tracks in the woodland around the resort are opened.
Weather is windy, foggy and cloudy. Temperatures vary from one to four degrees Celsius, Focus news agency said.
Borovets winter resort track Plats 4 is closed. Tracks Plats 1 and Yastrebets 1 are to be groomed because of icing.
Snow coverage varies from 25 to 115cm and two of the tracks, Plats 2 and Plats 3, are covered with artificial snow.
Wind speed reaches 25 m per second. Temperatures are up to seven degrees Celsius and avalanche danger exists in the area around Markoudzhik 3 ski track.
Ski lifts are closed in Pamporovo resort, Focus said. The wind is strong and temperatures reach one degree Celsius. Snow coverage is sparse.
