President: Bulgaria Will Be Balkan's Lawyer before EU
Bulgaria will defend the interests of the Balkan countries before the European Union in its capacity of a full member, President Georgi Parvanov said at an international conference in Montenegro.
Among the participants in the forum, dedicated to the relations between the South-eastern Europe and the EU, were the presidents of Macedonia, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the host country.
During the meeting, Bulgaria's head of state underlined that problems such as region's bad infrastructure have been left in the background.
"The Balkan countries should cooperate for the realization of the greatest infrastructure projects," the president added.
"The politicians from the South-eastern European countries should introduce to the people not only the advantages of the EU membership but also the disadvantages," Parvanov said.
