“Bansko has a much better park than most of the French resorts”. These are the words of former British snowboard champion Chris Moran, written in “Gardian”. The sportsman wrote a book in which he presented his favorite destinations for a good snowboard vacation. Among the world famous winter resorts as The Block, USA, Kicking Horse, Canada, Bourg St Maurice, France, The Yucatan in Switzerland, he placed Bansko. “The best Bulgarian resort is cheap and has accomplished an astonishing balance between local traditions and the mad rush for modern”, writes Moran. “Once laying feet on the fresh snow in the resort, everyone will surprise oneself how good he is and how few rivals there are for him. But not for long”, anticipates the former champion. In his point of view, the resort is a perfect place for crazy winter spending in the mountain. The Englishman says that the prices are low, the food – delicious and the night life is “just everywhere”. Moran explains that snowboard sport has already grown up and it goes no more along the ski tracks. People who undertake annual snowboard trips are about 12 million. They prefer something more different than the offered and proven ski-markets. Usually, the key to the attraction of more snowboard riders is the small ski tracks. Not much over-populated resorts with good investments in the entertainment parks can satisfy bigger part of them.
