Sofia's Airport Terminal 2
SOFIA (bnn)- The principal airlines which operate to Sofia will transfer their activities to the new Terminal 2 before the end of this month, Sofia Airport said on Monday.
Since March 1, the new terminal handles the flights of Rossiya Airlines, Aegean Airlines, Bulgaria Air, Hemus Air and Viaggio Air. Alitalia is moving to Terminal 2 on March 7, CSA on March 12, El Al on March 14, Aeroflot on March 20, Malev on March 21, Air France on March 23, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and LOT on March 25, Air Malta on March 26, British Airways and Aerosvit on March 28, and Olympic Airlines on March 30.
The number of the terminal where a particular flight is handled is listed in the daily flight schedule published on Sofia Airport's Internet site, www.sofia-airport.bg, as well as on the flight information displays in both passenger terminals.
A free interterminal shuttle service is available every 30 minutes. Passengers are recommended to consult their airline or travel agency in advance about the terminal handling their flight.
Public transport bus route 284 runs to Terminal 2 from Sofia University via Eagles Bridge, Hotel Pliska, and the District Hospital. Bus route 84 has not been changed, with a terminus at Terminal 1.
Terminal 2 can be reached by car down Bruxelles Boulevard.
The new passenger terminal has indoor parking space for 820 cars and a roofed passageway to the departures lounge. The taxi rank, the parking for hotel transfer buses and rented cars is right in front of the western entrance to the terminal. /bnn/
